평안을 위한 기도 -라인홀드 니버

 

주님, 제가 변화시킬 수 없는 일들을

용납하는 평안함을 허락해 주옵소서.

 

할 수 있는 것은 변화시킬 수 있는 용기를 주시고

또한 그 차이를 알 수 있는 지혜를 주옵소서.

 

하루하루를 충실히 살게 하시고

 

내게 주어진 매 순간을 누리게 하시며

고난을 평강으로 가는 여정으로 받아들이게 하옵소서.

 

죄로 물든 세상을 내 생각대로가 아니라

예수님처럼 있는 그대로 받아들이고

 

내가 당신의 뜻에 순종할 때

모든 것을 주 뜻대로 이끌어 가실 것을 믿습니다.

 

그리하여 이 땅에서의 나의 삶이

의미 있는 행복으로 채워지고

죽은 후엔 저 천국에서 주님과 함께

영원한 행복을 누리게 하실 것을 믿습니다.

God, grant me the Serenity

To accept the things I cannot change;

 

Courage to change the things I can;

And the Wisdom to know the difference.

 

Living one day at a time;

 

Enjoying one moment at a time;

Accepting hardship as the pathway to peace;

 

Taking, as He did, this sinful world

As it is, not as I would have it;

 

Trusting that He will make all things right

If I surrender to His Will,

 

So that I may be reasonably happy in this life,

And supremely happy with Him,

Forever and ever in the next.
